Michael Karonias is a self-taught American sculptor who works primarily in wood, while also creating select pieces in stone and steel. His passion for sculpting is reflected in extraordinary works that celebrate beauty, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
Born in Cyprus, Karonias immigrated with his family to Ypsilanti
Michigan, at the age of four to escape war. Although he showed little interest in woodworking as a student, his artistic journey began later in life after selling the first company he founded directly out of high school. That career milestone inspired him to pursue a new path as a full-time sculptor.
